The Ninety @ 90 Broadview Ave

One of the hottest locations in the city! Steps from the historic Broadview Hotel, The Ninety offers so much for the city dweller. Located just south of Queen St E and Broadview Ave the walkability is phenomenal. You can literally walk to the downtown core in 25 mins or take a short streetcar along Queen St E. While you’re at it hit up the shops, cafes, restaurants and hang out spots too! Wait, there is more. The surrounding outdoor activities are there to be taken advantage of with Jimmie Simpson Park a few blocks away or cross the River and hang out in the Corktown Commons. If you’re a bike rider take a cruise down to Tommy Thompson Park aka The Spit and lose yourself in the beauty of Lake Ontario and the weeds. The Beaches are a little further east but that’s the place to enjoy the sand, the sun and the boardwalk. This whole area has gone through a massive transformation over the years and it will continue as more developments and people come to this ever-growing community.

The Building

Historically the building was a Coca-Cola bottling plant and warehouse which influenced the U shaped design and feel of the building. It’s a beauty and one of our favourite buildings in the area! The striking lobby sets the tone with amazing amenities to match. The courtyard is serene and provides common seating for BBQs. There are 222 units so it’s a smaller building compared to the high rises in the downtown core. The loft style and unique characteristics makes it stand out from the cookie cutter condos. It features 9′ to 10′ ceilings, exposed concrete and European design. The Ninety is a great building with its own community within the neighbourhood.

Unit 617

If you don’t want to live here already here’s the best part. Unit 617 has style, a great layout, a chefs kitchen and tons of upgrades. The exposed concrete and high ceilings give it that unique loft vibe that many people love. It features 776 square feet with one king size bedroom plus a large den/living room space. It comes with a parking spot and a locker. There’s beautiful engineered hardwood throughout, upgraded caesarstone counter tops, upgraded large kitchen island with breakfast bar, a gas stove and upgraded cabinetry and backsplash. The large bathroom has been upgraded with a separate shower stall and upgraded plumbing fixtures. That’s a lot of upgrades! It’s a unique layout where the den space could double as a private living room, but the layout could also feature a sitting area and/or dining area in the main living space. The bedroom is huge and will fit a king size bed with side tables and dresser. The triple closet has a ton of storage and custom built-ins. You can never have enough storage that’s for sure. The balcony is a good size with 85 square feet of outdoor space plus it has an upgraded gas line for a BBQ.

You can’t beat the feeling @ The Ninety and Unit 617.

About the Neighbourhood | Riverside
Riverside is a great example of a neighbourhood that has drawn on its history as the impetus for a new era of prosperity and growth. This everything old is new again approach has been spearheaded by the Riverside Business Improvement Area. A renewed pride of ownership in the community is evident in the area’s award-winning beautification and revitalization projects that include new pedestrian lighting and façade restorations.

Riverside has undergone a gentrification of sorts but it has still been able to maintain a gritty urban charm. Riverside includes some of Toronto’s more remarkable century old buildings that have provided the perfect backdrop for the plethora of shops and restaurants that have recently sprung up in the area. Some would describe the area as Bohemian due to the eclectic and artsy businesses along Queen Street and mingling of people from all walks of life.

When you are in Riverside it is hard to imagine you are just 2.5 kilometers from downtown Toronto. The railway corridor and the Don Valley that border this neighbourhood have resulted in a tightly knit community within a well defined area. Some notable neighbourhood landmarks include: the New Broadview House Hotel, Ralph Thornton Community Centre, The Opera House, Jimmy Simpson Park and Recreation Centre, Toronto’s east chinatown located at Broadview and Gerrard, the recently revitalized Don Mount Court/Rivertowne mixed income public housing development, and last but not least De Grassi Street. This street was made famous by the popular CBC Degrassi series of television shows for youth. While largely filmed elsewhere the vibe of the show originated with this area and many exterior shots were filmed in this neighbourhood.
