MITSURA SWEET EATS MY GUIDE TO THE BEST FOOD IN TO

Contemporary Italian Cuisine

I’ve been here for many celebrations, the food is consistent, there is an extensive wine list and I’m a big fan of Executive Chef Massimo Capra (Restaurant Makeover and those Buitoni Pizza Ads).

This was a completely different Birthday Meal than my Barque outing, this time I was out with my family and we decided to go to another favourite spot for celebrating.

While you can request to have your meal come out as Family Style, we decided to all get our own meals. Together we sampled the Beef Carpacio, Carciofini (crispy fried articokes), Gnocci (This one has a Porchini Mushroom Ragu), Tagliattelle Bolognese, Risotto Rosso (Signature Red Beet Dish), Branzino (perfectly roasted sea bass), Galetto Ripeno (Pancetta Wrapped Cornish Hen) and the special of the night Tuna dish (Seared over Wasabi Mashed Potatoes)

We all fought over having the best dish, no complaints in our group, and finished off with some peppermint tea, espresso and a chocolaty brownie dessert.

If you are hosting a larger event you can hold it upstairs in their event space, Sopra Lounge, which is complete with a great bar for cocktail hour and a piano for live music.

Why we come here: Our new favourite dish the Galetto Ripeno, Signature Dish Risotto Rosso and ever changing specials.

What to know: Not right in Yorkville but just north.  It is a bit off the beaten path, so you will likely want to drive or taxi.

There is valet parking for $10, but it’s pretty easy to find a spot on Davenport. The restaurant can be on the cooler side, so bring your layers.
