Toshi is hands down my favourite Sushi Restaurant in Toronto. The unassuming restaurant which seats about 35 people is in need of a face lift, and I think that’s why people sometimes walk past and decide against this little sushi joint but I’m here to tell you to GO!
My gained appreciation for sushi is because of this place…now I know just how amazing a simple tuna roll can really taste!
The seafood is always fresh, the staff friendly and while in need of an update in décor, the space is clean and the sushi really is amazing! Funnily enough I think what elevates the rolls over the competition is the most simple ingredient of all…the rice… They are also not afraid to use spice … why do you call it a spicy tuna roll if it’s not spicy?!?
Situated on the busy section of the King West Entertainment district (King West and Portland) it is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch or take out (usually ready in less than 15 minutes for pick up).
Why we go: Spicy Tuna Rolls and Green Dragon Roll
What to know: They need to upgrade to fresh pickled ginger (our only complaint). Go for lunch not dinner unless it is take out.
