BARQUE SWEET EATS MY GUIDE TO THE BEST FOOD IN TO
VOLUME 6
FEATURE: BARQUE
This Roncy BBQ joint is impossible to get a reservation so it was a nice surprise for my birthday dinner with Jess and friends to celebrate.
Our reservation wasn’t until 9pm (even though it had been booked a month in advance) so if you would like to go here for a special night make sure that you book ahead, especially on the weekends!
Our table wasn’t ready upon arrival, but it was a nice night so we chatted out front…be aware that they fill the bar up with dinner patrons and there is hardly any room to wait inside so bundle up if you decide to go this winter!
Upon arrival to our table a bucket of BBQ popcorn was set in place of bread…YUM! We dove right into ordering some cocktails and specialty beers. I recommend the Caesar (bacon maple rim), Ginger Beer cocktails and Cheval Blanc or Pale Ale which all go great with this BBQ menu.
Us boys ordered the Sampler Meals which included 3 BBQ meat options and 2 sides. The girls ordered the Half BBQ Chicken and the Barque Plate.
Each dish allows you to pick and choose your options which is great. I selected the Brisket, Sweet Heat Baby Back Ribbies and the Chorizo with Cauliflower and Caesar Salad. All of which were very very tasty!
Jess’ Barque plate included grilled shrimp, Pita with Baba Ganoush (I don’t know why but I love this name), Beef Cheek and Fish Tacos. It was perfect for someone with a lighter appetite, though she still stole some Brisket and a Rib from my plate. It never fails (she’s a taster), but I’m usually finishing up her plates. We all shared the gelato for dessert which was good, but hoped for some more interesting options on the dessert menu. All in all we loved our first dining experience here and we look forward to coming back to try some more BBQ.

Why we come: Brisket, BBQ Popcorn, Barque Plate, Bang for your Buck
What to know: Since opening it’s become a hot spot and can be difficult to get reservations at the last minute. Chorizo was a bit dry but willing to give it another chance. All of the BBQ sauce that lines the bookshelves are not for sale….we tried to buy two.
